Marco Frezzato - baroque cello
Marco studied with Antonio Meneses, Amedeo Baldovino and Mario Brunello, owing his chamber music education to the Trio di Trieste, whose courses he attended at the Scuola di Musica in Fiesole and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.
In 2003 he graduated with honours in baroque cello with Gaetano Nasillo at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milano.
As first cello he collaborates with such groups as Accademia Bizantina, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Le Concert d'Astrée, Divino Sospiro, Brixia Musicalis, Ensemble Accordone, Ensemble Claudiana, Ars Musica Zürich.
He has recorded CDs for Decca, EMI, Virgin Classics, L’Oiseau-Lyre, Harmonia Mundi and Naive, and his passion for recording techniques and audio editing have frequently put him on the other side of the microphone.
He is a founding member of the classical and romantic quartet AleaEnsemble, a group that has already won prizes and critical acclaim for its recordings.
