Aira Maria Lehtipuu - baroque violin
Aira Maria Lehtipuu is a well-established Finnish violinist specialized in early music. She is regularly seen around Europe as a performing artist, but she also works as a teacher on all levels from beginners to professional students.
Aira has gathered experience in ensembles such as Capriccio Stravagante, L’Arpeggiata Ensemble, Orfeo 55, Bach Collegium Japan, Les Arts Florissants, Holland Baroque Society, B’rock and Al Ayre Español and is nowadays one of the leading members of Helsinki Baroque Orchestra. Her roles as a musician alternate flexibly between concert master and viola player and her instrument repertoire includes also viola d’amore and Romanian horn violin, stroh.
She is a prize winner of Premio Bonporti international baroque violin competition held in Italy in 2010.
Her recent activities include bringing the Norwegian-born concert formula Café Barock to her new home town Tampere.
Her favourite hobbies are being outdoors and playing folk music – sometimes even simultaneously.
