Alessandro Tampieri - baroque violin

Alessandro brings to Brú the vitality and touch of folly that is so characteristic of his home town Ravenna. Already at a young age he began working as violinist and violist with the Ravenna-based orchestra Accademia Bizantina, a group that he currently leads as first violin. His thorough knowledge of these two instruments has led him to explore every aspect of their role and repertoire, both early and contemporary, as soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster, and orchestral player. His preference is focused on XVIth-XVIIth century repertoire, in keeping with his remarkable improvisational skills. He collaborates with other groups such as Il Giardino Armonico, Academia Montis Regalis, Divino Sospiro, L'Arpeggiata, Artaserse, Imaginarium. Being a multi-talented musician, he is sometimes hired as lute player as well; with this instrument he recently recorded Corelli’s Sonatas Op. V with violinist Enrico Onofri.A renowned jogger, he can be seen, no matter his work location,in the early morning returning from his daily 10 km run.
